Another suspect arrested for robbery at Toronto jewelry store; 1 suspect still pending


A third man is now in custody following a suspected armed robbery at an eastern jewelry store last month, while one suspect remains unresolved.

This follows a press release issued on Monday detailing the arrest of the other two people believed to have been involved in the incident.

On February 24, Toronto police responded to a report of a robbery in the area of ​​Gerrard Street East and Coxwell Avenue, according to an update. Press release released Wednesday.

Investigators allege a masked man entered the jewelry store and ordered employees to lie on the floor before opening the door and letting two other men into the establishment.

According to officers, these men took a significant amount of jewelry and hid it in bags they brought with them. Then they fled.

The department’s heist team said they were able to identify a man believed to have been involved in the theft and located him traveling in a vehicle on March 3.

Police say he was arrested, found in possession of a loaded handgun and a quantity of cocaine, then arrested with a passenger in the car.

On Wednesday, police announced a new arrest in connection with the incident.

Joran Dennis, 34, of Toronto, is charged with robbery with a firearm, intentional disguise, dangerous weapons, carrying a concealed weapon, pointing a firearm and using a firearm during the commission of a criminal act.

Dennis appeared in court on March 15.
