Burglar locks front door of Glendale jewelry store, smashes window to steal Rolex watches – CBS Los Angeles


GLENDALE (CBSA) — The police need help identifying a man who forced his way into a jewelry store in Glendale and got away with several Rolex watches.

The burglary occurred on January 19 around 4 p.m. in the 100 block of North Brand Boulevard. A crime bulletin released Wednesday says a man dressed in black approached the store with a white bag and a small black suitcase.

At the store, police said the man pulled out a chain with a padlock and locked the front door. Then he smashed the outer glass of a display case with a metal cartridge case and seized several Rolex watches.

Police said a black van was staged nearby and the burglar drove off.

The burglar was described as a white or Hispanic male between the ages of 25 and 35, 5 feet 9 to 6 feet tall, and of average build. The van was described as a matte black 1999 Dodge Caravan, license plate 7LWN557.
