Fake bomb intended to rob a jewelry store; Police are looking for a suspect

HOWARD COUNTY, MD – A man wearing a black NASA Astronaut Group 16 hoodie, black pants and shoes left a suspicious package at the door of an Ellicott City jewelry store in October.

The targeted business was Sergio’s Fine Jewelers located in the 10100 block of Baltimore National Pike. Howard County police said the explosive device contained a note demanding jewelry and cash. Closer inspection shows the package was fake. The man was driving a black Mercedes-Benz sedan.

Police are offering a $1,500 reward to help identify the man.
