Jewelry brand Mejuri opens first Houston store in Montrose

Canadian high jewelry brand Mejuri is coming to Houston this week.

The brand is launching its Houston store in the Montrose Collective with a soft opening Thursday and a grand opening Friday through Sunday. The location at 888 Westheimer Road is Mejuri’s eleventh store overall and second in Texas.

Mejuri wooed young buyers by reduce commercial margins to offer more affordable prices, focus on durable and high-quality materials and keep a close eye on social networks. Since its launch in 2015, the company has 1.1 million followers on Instagram and more than 200,000 on TikTok. Her jewelry has been featured in social media posts and featured on red carpets by celebrities such as Selena Gomez and Lizzo.

Retailers advertise that it uses recycled gold in many of its products and works with certified suppliers to source fine jewelry materials that do not come from mines with dangerous working conditions or belonging to armed groups or criminal networks

It also offers a “drop” model, in which new collections are published on the brand’s website every Monday. The Houston store will feature new merchandise each week in line with Monday’s lows, a company spokesperson said.

Montrose Collective will have over 150,000 square feet of office space, retail, restaurants and a public library.

Mejuri’s other US locations include Austin, San Francisco and Los Angeles. In a statement, the brand said it chose the Montrose location to be “in the heart of Houston’s most culturally electric neighborhood.”

The middle of the store features a “Style Bar” where customers can work with Mejuri stylists on how to style their jewelry or layer multiple pieces together. Soon, the Houston location will also add a piercing studio where customers can receive personalized ear styling advice and receive full piercing service and aftercare, according to a spokesperson.

From Friday to Sunday, the brand is offering free earrings to the first 50 customers who make a purchase each day, as well as special giveaways, live music and food service from Thrive Juices.
