Infinity Jewelers manager Grace James was standing near the front of the store when several young men approached. The robbery took place after 7 p.m. Wednesday, less than an hour before the mall closed.

“All of a sudden – I was just standing there – they all came at once and started banging on our stuff,” James said. “I felt so violated, because look at it happening in front of my face, and there’s nothing I can do about it. I was just screaming. I want to protect my store, but there’s nothing you can do.

A security guard is seen running towards the store at the end of the video.

Madison McGough also witnessed the smash and grab.

The robbery is just the latest in a string of brazen thefts across the Bay Area from major retailers, including drugstores and high-end chains like Neiman Marcus.

“Honestly, it’s kind of scary how bold they get, and they don’t even try to hide it,” McGough added.

James said that in the three years that the jewelry store had been open, nothing like this had happened.

“We heard about San Jose, the Great Mall, Hayward; but we never thought it would happen here, because it’s like little Manila,” James said.

When asked what she would say to suspects, she replied, “God, guys, get a job. It’s very scary.
